Early Spring 1990 David received a phone call to say Celtheath had been awarded the contract to refurbish the furniture of The Dorchester Hotel, London which was reopening in October 1990 following two years of structural renovations costing £100m.

In excess of 4500 items of furniture had to be collected and painstakingly refurbished; Cabinet Makers, Upholsterers, French Polishers and Gilders set about restoring every item to perfection.

Each piece was inspected by David and after approval were delivered to The Dorchester where they were placed into the hotel for the Grand Opening.
