Anne and David founded Celtheath Contract Furniture back in 1990, having spent many years working within the UK furniture industry for the leading luxury furniture specialists Waring and Gillow. They recognised there was a need for a customer focused furniture restoration and bespoke furniture manufacturing service within the hotel and leisure sectors.

This opportunity was rewarded within their first year of trading as they secured the prestigious contract to refurbish the furniture and upholstered fixtures for the Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane, London. The Hotel was closed for this major refit with the brief that the furniture needed to retain its original 1930s look and ambiance.

This family-owned business has grown from strength to strength to become one of the UK’s market leaders in the supply of bespoke upholstery; the refurbishment of existing furniture; and furniture logistics to the commercial, residential and contract sectors.

In 2001 their daughter, Elizabeth, joined the company to continue the family commitment to a long-term focus on their customers, employees, suppliers and the greater community. With her husband Chris joining the company as Contracts Director in 2016.

Celtheath fully supports this furnishing industry charity to put something back in to the industry that has served them well. The charity provides support to others within the furniture industry whether starting out or retired who need a helping hand. The charity has three key initiatives;

Education; providing financial and practical support to nurture young talent and encourage to join or remain within the industry
Excellence; promotion of best practice and excellence providing the industry the tools to highlight and celebrate success.
Welfare; support those in need through annuities and one off grants.

David considers his customers as part of his extended family, wanting the very best for them and affording them the highest level of respect and consideration. David is a Liveryman and an active member of the Furniture Makers Company the furnishing industries charity and can be seen in various guises raising funds as he participates in numerous charity events. He is also an accomplished scuba diver.

Anne has spent many years working within the UK furniture industry and is the foundation that everyone relies on ensuring the business is kept on track, responsible for both human resources and financial matters. In Anne’s spare time you will find her working in the garden, keeping everything in order.

Lizzie has long taken an interest in the family business from her school days, through to her finally joining Celtheath full time in 2001. Lizzie manages the large scale logistics operation, and is responsible for it’s 30 plus staff. Having recently married and moved house, Lizzie spends her downtime finding ways to make this a home for her and Chris. Lizzie is a Liveryman and Captain of Swimming at the Furniture Makers Company.

Chris joined the company in March 2016 to expand and develop the contract furnishing sector of the business. With over 10 years experience advising clients on seating designs and fabric selections, Chris brings to Celtheath a wealth of knowledge to support our customer base.
